About the Authors

Nancy Manahan, Ph.D., has taught community college English, cross-cultural literature, women’s studies, and film studies. Her writing has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies.

Becky Bohan earned her M.A. in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is the retired Vice-President of Knowledge Design and Delivery, Inc., a training consulting company.

Nancy and Becky grew up in Madelia, MN. They received their undergraduate degrees in English from the University of Minnesota and have published four previous books. They make their home in Costa Rica, in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, and in Minneapolis.

Nancy and Becky are founding members of the Minnesota Threshold Network, which educates Minnesotans about home funerals and natural burials.

They have pieces in the anthology Where the Tree Falls, the Forest Rises: Stories of Death and Renewal, (ed. Charlene Elderkin, 2012), a collection of true stories that offer an intimate glimpse into personal renewal following the death of a loved one.
